First, I hope that everyone is keeping safe and well.
I am writing to confirm that we will host a short, virtual meeting of the QAN in June – to act as a touch-base on key quality assurance matters during the COVID-19 crisis and to do some QAN workstream updates and planning for later in the year.
There is clearly no question of trying to hold a physical QAN meeting in June – and indeed the CEAOB Inspection Sub-Group Chair wrote to me a few days ago to say that they have cancelled their June gathering in Brussels. We are staying in contact to understand their re-scheduling in due course.
We propose that the virtual QAN meeting is held between 10am and 12 noon (CEST) on Thursday, 18 June. We hope that this slot works for all, but do get in touch if there are diary difficulties – we are always open to flexing to ensure that as many participants as possible can be involved.
We will come back to you closer to the meeting with the full agenda details (including communication platform), but at the current time we envisage covering:
– Update of timetable for QAN interaction with the CEAOB plenary, and the CEAOB ISG/national POBs
– Exchange on quality assurance challenges in COVID-19 context
– QAN workstreams: what can feasibly be pursued in this period?
We are hoping that the new and observer PAOs which intended to attend the Frankfurt meeting will join us for the virtual meeting. In this case, we would of course make appropriate preparations for introductions/background material.
As always, we would be very happy to receive your feedback – including any additional suggestions that you may wish to make.
